(Daily Jurat)Iran said the United States continued exchanging views on a proposed negotiating framework through Pakistani mediation, despite publicly rejecting Tehran’s 14-point proposal, IRNA reported.Speaking at his weekly press conference, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said Washington sent “a set of revised points and considerations” through Pakistan last week after Iran submitted its proposal and the US raised its own concerns.Baqaei said Tehran reviewed the latest points and had already sent its response back to Washington through the same Pakistani channel, adding that “the process is continuing through Pakistan”.
The spokesperson also rejected media speculation about the US proposal, particularly over Iran’s uranium enrichment activities and enriched material, saying Iran’s right to enrichment was “non-negotiable” and recognised under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
On the Strait of Hormuz, Baqaei said Iran remained committed to safe maritime transit and was continuing consultations with Oman, including expert-level talks in Muscat, to develop mechanisms for secure navigation through the strategic waterway.
