Tokyo (NNI) After a bird flu case was confirmed in eastern Japan, it has been decided to culled millions of chickens. According to international media reports, Ibaraki prefecture authorities have confirmed that a highly dangerous avian influenza (bird flu) has spread to a poultry farm in Shirosato, which is the tenth case of its kind in the country this season.
Provincial authorities said that 970,000 egg-laying chickens on the affected farm will be culled, which is the largest operation so far this season. After the latest case, the total number of chickens to be culled has reached 3.65 million.
