Italy has allocated a total quota of 10,500 jobs for Pakistan. The spokesperson said that Italy has allotted a job quota to Pakistan for the next 3 years, under which 3,500 Pakistanis will go to Italy for employment every year in the next 3 years on seasonal and non-seasonal quotas. This will include 1500 seasonal and 2000 non-seasonal workers every year. Italy allocated this quota for Pakistan on the special request of Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain. According to the spokesperson, Pakistan has been given a quota of jobs in the shipbreaking, hospitality, healthcare and agriculture sectors, where Pakistani skilled and semi-skilled workers will serve. The spokesperson said that there are employment opportunities for Pakistani workers in Italy in the fields of welders, technicians, chefs, waiters, housekeeping, nursing, medical technicians, farming and cultivation. Italy is the first country in Europe to have allotted a regular quota for jobs for Pakistan, which is being described as a significant development. Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain said that the second meeting of the Joint Working Group between Pakistan and Italy will be held in Islamabad in February 2026.
He termed the quota allocation by Italy as an important milestone and said that after a long struggle, the doors of employment are going to open for the Pakistani workforce. According to Chaudhry Salik Hussain, this development is an important milestone for Pakistan in finding new opportunities in the European labor market. He said that the government of Pakistan is constantly striving to provide its workers with respectable employment at the global level. Overseas Pakistanis are playing the role of the backbone of the country’s economy. Soon, more countries in Europe will also open for the Pakistani workforce.
