Lahore (NNI) A constitutional petition has been filed in Lahore High Court against the Punjab Protection Ownership Act 2025.
The petition was filed by PTI members of Punjab Assembly Sheikh Imtiaz Mahmood and Ijaz Shafi, in which it has been taken the position that the constitution was violated by giving powers related to property to the administration under the act, the parties are not allowed to appear through a lawyer in the Dispute Resolution Committee.
The petition also said that ending the jurisdiction of civil courts is contrary to the constitution, combining executive and judicial powers is an attack on the independence of the judiciary. The petitioner requested that the Property Ownership Act and all measures taken under it be declared null and void.
